Rachel Cronmiller

Interim Director of Development
After finishing a PhD at North Carolina State University, Rachel joined the Second Chance Pet Adoptions team in 2016, when she was hired as Development and Communications Manager. Over the course of 8 years, she was promoted to Senior Manager and ultimately Director, until she moved to Curacao in 2024. Though her home is now far from the adoption center, her heart never is, and she remains as dedicated to the mission of Second Chance as she was when she lived in Raleigh. Thanks to the wonders of technology, Rachel coordinates fundraising initiatives from across the Caribbean Sea, where she lives with her husband, three dogs, four cats, and fish. She is pictured here with one of her dogs, Madeline, who was rescued by Second Chance in 2017 after being left in a county shelter's "drop box" one cold winter night; today, Maddie loves the year-round warmth of the island and chasing the exotic lizards in her gated garden.
