Donate to Second Chance through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a great vehicle through which you can support Second Chance Pet Adoptions in a flexible and tax-efficient way. By contributing to a DAF, you receive an immediate tax deduction while maintaining control over when and where grants are distributed. This allows you to strategically fund our vital rescue efforts, veterinary care, and shelter support over time. Contributing to Second Chance through a DAF ensures your generosity has a lasting impact on saving and protecting vulnerable animals.

Helping Visualize a (DAF):

You probably already have some specialized financial accounts. A DAF is just another of those with a charitable purpose:

IRA or 401K Account

For retirement savings.

529 Account

For college savings.

HSA or FSA Account

For health care savings.

Donor-Advised Fund

For charitable giving.

How a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Works:

Think of a DAF as an investment account established by you for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about over time. You work with your DAF in three stages:

GIVE

Working with your financial institution, you establish your DAF and fund it with cash, securities or other assets for an immediate tax deduction.

GROW

Your DAF account assets are invested as you direct and can potentially grow tax-free, making even more money available for charities.

GRANT

You direct monies to be distributed over time to IRS-recognized charities you choose, like Second Chance.  You control the timing and recipient of the distributions.

A DAF might be right for you if any of the following are true:

You Want to Maximize Your Tax Benefits

You seek an immediate charitable tax deduction while distributing funds over time.

You Have Appreciated Assets

You want to donate stocks, real estate, or other assets you own tax-efficiently.

You Prefer Flexible Giving

You want to donate now and decide which charities receive funds later.

You Want Simplified Charitable Giving

You favor managing your charitable contributions from a centralized account.

You Want to Provide Long-Term Support

You plan to support charities over time rather than as a one-time donation.

You (may) Want to Donate Anonymously
