Julie’s love for animals began with her first cat, Socks, and has only grown over the years. She began her professional career as a Registered Nurse, later spending 17 years as a business consultant advising health care clients on strategy, operations, and growth. An entrepreneur, she co-owns RTP Uncorked, a neighborhood wine shop in Durham, NC. For more than 30 years, Julie has been deeply involved in animal rescue in numerous volunteer and leadership roles. Julie lives in Durham with her six cats—Monkey, Marley, Gus, Rocky, Cobalt, and Sasha—and a rotation of foster cats. Julie brings her healthcare, business, and animal welfare experience with an approach of adaptability, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose to make meaningful impacts to animal welfare.
