Come on out to Second Chance to meet your new furry family member! Our foster kittens (6 months and younger) will be on-site to meet their new forever families, too!

NCWaterHeaters.com’s 2nd annual Rock The Shop event will be supporting Second Chance Pet Adoptions and Freedom German Shepherd Rescue. Adoptable animals from Second Chance Pet Adoptions will be on-site from 5:00 to 7:00, though the event itself runs later into the evening. While there is no cost to attend, the organizers are asking that those who can bring a monetary donation or supplies from the rescues’ wish lists please do, and all will be turned over to the animals in these two rescue organizations. (To see Second Chance’s wish list, click HERE.) Donations will be accepted until 11pm.

While you enjoy learning about these amazing rescue groups, check out the UpZcale food truck, who will be providing delicious food created by professional chefs! After the animals leave, live music will be performed by Antigone joined by The Old Laws, Split Type, and Needle Mouse. These polished Raleigh rock bands support our animal rescues and want to provide you with an evening to remember!

NOTE: Parkside Town Commons has rescheduled this event due to weather. The event will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. If you have purchased tickets for the 9/13 date, they are still valid on September 14. As we are unable to issue refunds, we hope to see you there; if you would like your ticket transferred to another person instead, please contact rachel@secondchancenc.org. If you have yet to purchase tickets, you can do so on-site, and we will keep the online sales open until noon Eastern on 9/14. We apologize for any inconvenience.

On Saturday, September 14, 2019, visit with some of our adoptable animals at the Parkside Town Commons Wine Walk to benefit our cats and dogs! We’ll be at Cold Stone Creamery from 5:00 to 8:00 PM selling tickets (cash, check, or card) OR you can also purchase tickets online HERE! Tickets are $10 each; you’ll get a glass, tasting card, and store map marked with those who have wine for you. Visit at least 8 vendors to get samples of wine from each and you’ll be entered to win a gift basket worth over $250. The first 100 ticket buyers online and on-site (total) receive a free canvas tote bag!

Bring your dirty pup to Unleashed on Creedmoor and we’ll take care of bath time for you! Spare your knees, back, and bathroom with a donation for the animals of Second Chance Pet Adoptions (suggested $10 donation per dog). Cash, check, and card all accepted.

Starting in March 2019, Second Chance is using an online sign-up system so that you may select your appointment time! We hope this will make your experience even better as we virtually eliminate your wait time and offer the convenience of pre-payment. You may now make an appointment by clicking HERE!

Each month, the online reservations will open up at 12:00 noon Eastern on the first day of the month. Online reservations will close 24 hours in advance of the wash (at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on the day before the wash) OR once all appointments are booked.

As we transition from “first come, first served” to online reservations, we may make some changes to this system based on customer feedback. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition; keep an eye on our event calendar for the most up-to-date information.

CAN’T MAKE IT? While you must be present to win a live auction item, you can still register (without purchasing a ticket) to BID in the silent auction from anywhere in the world by clicking HERE (provided you can pick your items up at Second Chance or have someone do so for you). You can also purchase RAFFLE tickets for the 50/50 cash prize, the Tommy Bahama Bar, and the Cary Staycation HERE.

Say hello to furry friends on your way into the Raleigh Convention Center, then browse the plethora of silent auction items during the cocktail hour, featuring complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres for all guests. Take a seat with friends for a (vegan-friendly) plated dinner and delectable desserts and keep an eye on your bids via your smartphone or tablet.

Between courses, hop into the free photo booth to create some memories and take your chances in the Wine Pull, raffle, and Grab Bag games. Prepare to be delighted by our emcee of the evening, Benjamin Farrell, who will keep you on your toes through the live auction and other engaging enhancements throughout the night.

All good things must come to an end, so at 10:00, we say goodnight, knowing the fun we had together has given over 750 stray and abandoned animals a second chance!
