YOU can feed animals in need!
Food donations keep our on-site and foster animals fed and healthy while waiting for adoption. Without your support and food donations, happy tails like Adira’s would not have been possible! Weighing in at around 25 pounds when we rescued her, Adira was in desperate need of nourishment and reached a healthy weight of over 50 pounds before adoption!
If you are interested in donating food to Second Chance Pet Adoptions, please read about our preferences and policies so that your donation will have the highest impact on the health and well-being of stray and abandoned animals. To donate funds with which we may purchase food (at a discounted rate, allowing us to buy even more food because of your generosity!), please fill out the form below!
Food Policies & Preferences
When it comes to food donations, we prefer that money is donated to us so we can purchase the dog and/or cat food ourselves. As part of the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love Program, Second Chance is able to purchase dog and cat food at a much lower rate than one would if purchasing in a pet store or online. If you donate to us monetarily for food, your donation will provide two to three times the amount of food than it would have if you purchased a bag yourself. Talk about a win-win!
Buying the food ourselves also allows us to regulate the timing of the arrival of the food. When we receive a mass amount of food donations at one time, we have a hard time using it and storing it. This leads to food sitting for weeks that may attract bugs or moths. By donating food in the form of a monetary donation, we can limit the amount of food we have sitting at one time and purchase the food ourselves when we are in need of it. Fill out the donation form below to donate food by donating funds!
