688 Animals Later: The 2018 Evening of Pawsibilities Breaks a Record!

Watch the video!

After last year’s Evening of Pawsibilities, 688 stray and abandoned cats and dogs came through our doors. With a revenue of approximately $75,000 at the 2017 auction, we saved almost 700 needy souls. As you can see in our video of the past year, rescue isn’t always pretty: starvation, infections, broken legs, and extreme fear leave permanent marks on these babies.

The 2018 Evening of Pawsibilities shattered our 2017 record. With a revenue of over $100,000 from this year’s event, the next 12 months are going to be nothing short of insane as we save more lives than any year prior. Generous supporters like you remind us that rescue isn’t always pretty, but it sure is beautiful.Thank you for attending, for bidding from home, purchasing raffle tickets, donating auction items, and volunteering to make this life-saving event a success for the cats and dogs awaiting their second chances.

Second Chance Rescues Evacuated Animals Displaced by Hurricane Florence

Watch the video!

Hurricane Florence devastated the eastern part of North Carolina in September 2018. Animal shelters in the area desperately needed to evacuate their animals, especially the Carteret County Humane Society. Almost 100 animals were transported to the Fairgrounds in Raleigh, and some of our dedicated volunteers immediately stepped up to set up temporary shelter, coordinate supply drop-offs, and conduct medical evaluations of the cats and dogs. The following day, Second Chance accepted 14 of the cats into our adoption program, giving them a permanent place to live until they find their forever families.

We can only rescue animals like these with your support.

3rd Annual Pints for Pooches Aug. 19 at Lynnwood Brewing Concern!

It’s that time of year! Summer is winding down, the kids are going back to school soon (you made it!), and the heat is still kickin’. Take a load off and cool down with your best (leashed and friendly) four-legged friend while helping Second Chance Pet Adoptions raise money to rescue homeless animals!

Join us Sunday, August 19 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Lynnwood Brewing Concern (the taproom just off Capital). While dogs aren’t allowed in the taproom, LBC boasts a huge beer garden with plenty of outdoor seating. We’ll have lots of water bowls for the doggies and, of course, LBC has got the brews to help you beat the heat!

Drink up: LBC is generously donating $1 for every pint sold to the cats and dogs in need of a second chance! Bring your friends and enjoy not just great brews for a great cause, but also some yummy grub: grab snacks, dinner, and dessert from the BBQ Proper truck. Last but most certainly not least, make sure to visit with some of our adoptable doggos!

We’re working on a few additions to make this night a memorable one, so stay tuned HERE!

Slickdeals Sends Our Animals $5,000!

We partnered with Slickdeals–the largest deal hub on the internet (hello, coupon codes!)–in their #SlickdealsGivesBack program. The deal was simple: as our supporters saved more money, we would save more animals. We asked you to sign up, to shop, and to save, and Slickdeals would donate money on your behalf. Second Chance family, we are pleased to announce that we just received $5,000 from Slickdeals! We are so grateful for the generosity of Slickdeals and their commitment to creating a better world. PLEASE KEEP IT UP! To learn more about how you can save lives by saving money, click HERE.
