Meet the animals at Second Chance Pet Adoptions through our annual LIVE #GivingTuesday tour! Go inside the adoption center and get to know the cats and dogs in our rescue and adoption programs, all from the safety and comfort of your own home! Simply tune in at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, December 1 at www.facebook.com/secondchancenc and enjoy! (You do not need a Facebook account to view the stream.) UPDATE: DID YOU MISS IT? No worries! A generous, anonymous donor is matching, dollar-for-dollar, the first $5,000 donated on #GivingTuesday! Send your gift to animals in need through our website (here) or through our Facebook fundraiser (here) and know that you’ve left your mark on solving animal homelessness in our community!

Increase your impact: create a fundraiser!

YOU can create a fundraiser of your own any time between now and Tuesday: it’s quick and easy! Not only do these fundraisers bring in much-needed funds for the animals, but they introduce new people to our mission to expand the Second Chance family! There are two ways to do it, and both will get you a customized link to share with your family and friends.

  • Through JustGiving:
    • Start your set-up by going to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising-page/creation/?campaignShortName=gt-2020. Sign up (or log in if you’ve used JustGiving before).
    • Click “Start” under “Celebrating an Occasion.” Under “My page is in celebration of,” choose “something else.” Add “Giving Tuesday” when the “I’m celebrating” box pops up. Select December 1, 2020 as the date of the event.
    • It’ll suggest a slug for your URL; you can accept it as-is or edit it if you’d like. Click “Next.”
    • Opt into or out of emails and select “Create Your Page.”
    • You can then personalize your page and/or goal if you’d like, but it’s also pre-set for ease for those who don’t want to customize!
  • Through Facebook:
    • Go to https://www.facebook.com/fund/SecondChanceNC/ or use the hamburger menu (the 3 lines) in your Facebook app (then you’d click “Fundraisers,” “Select Nonprofit,” choose Second Chance Pet Adoptions, edit however you’d like, and hit “Create”).
    • Either way, some content is already set in place for you if you’d prefer not to do any editing at all, but you can edit if you’d like!
    • Facebook is matching $7,000,000 in donations sent through the platform starting at 8:00 a.m. Eastern on Dec. 1!
