Are you sitting down? Your generous donations this past year have enabled Second Chance’s staff and volunteers to help over 1,725 animals in 2021—but let’s break it down:
- Between our local adoption program and our Hearts to Home transport program, we rescued just shy of 1,000 cats and dogs from shelters, the streets, and owners who could no longer provide adequate care for their pets. This means your gifts allowed us to save 17% more animals this year than we did in 2020!
- We ensure every animal in our care is spayed/neutered before they are adopted, but we also provide monetary support for feral (unowned) cats and for pets of low-income guardians to be spayed/neutered as well, all in the name of ending the cycle of animal homelessness. This year, your support helped us pay for 753 of these surgeries—a 57% increase over the 481 surgeries we funded in 2020!
From the bottoms of our heart, we thank you for an i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e, record-breaking year; having you in our corner has kept the wind in our sails for going on 35 years now. As we move into a new year, we are definitely exhausted, but we are also excited and we are enamored with the Second Chance family!
