It has been almost two months since Sara Lee picked me out of the lineup of visitors to the "facility" in Cary that Saturday. She looked me right in the eyes and stared at me for as long as I would look back at her. On that visit I could not spend a lot of time with her as I had promised to visit each and every feline in the house. She knew I would not be able to forget her so I returned to see her again and on August 4th and we decided that we were going to be lifelong friends. I want to thank her foster mother Paula C for instilling such a loving foundation and such fine manners in Ms. Lee. She has come into my formerly bleak home and turned it into her personal playpen. She now owns every cat toy currently in existence and she wants me to throw, flip, toss and shake each and every one of them (all the time) for her amusement. At first I thought perhaps I had gotten too old to keep up with so much raw energy.
But as we spend time together I realize that all that enthusiasm is rubbing off on me. Now I am always glad to come home and see her sweet face looking for me out the window.
Thank you all again for all that you are doing as volunteers.
Thanks to Second Chance for making it possible.
